Approximately 18 months ago, Inqlude IT transitioned to using Accessibility Cloud for all accessibility testing. This shift allowed us to streamline and structure our entire workflow: We have saved significant time, eliminated the need for manual maintenance of Excel files and version control, and consolidated all test results in one place—covering both automated tests and manual evaluations.
Accessibility Cloud has significantly enhanced our testing processes. Our work is now more accurate, faster, and easier to communicate to clients—and not least, more engaging and fun for our team.
What this means for our clients
- Clarity and usability: Accessibility Cloud is intuitive, well-structured, and easy to use—even for individuals without in-depth accessibility expertise.
- Automated testing insights: Clients gain full visibility into automated test results. Many of our clients hold their own licenses and receive notifications when new accessibility issues are detected during weekly scans of their solutions.
- Centralized test results: Results from both automated tests and manual evaluations are consolidated in a single platform, providing a clear overview of the current accessibility status.
- Full history and traceability: Clients have complete historical insight into how accessibility has evolved over time and can access all versions of accessibility reports whenever needed.
- Accessibility statements: The platform can automatically generate draft text for accessibility statements based on the issues identified in the system.
- Streamlined communication: Accessibility Cloud facilitates efficient communication between developers, vendors, and Inqlude IT, ensuring all stakeholders have a clear and shared understanding of issue status, remediation, and retesting.
- Accessible documents: The platform scans not only web pages but also documents hosted on websites, providing a comprehensive list of documents along with their accessibility status.
Some of our clients have become self-sufficient in Accessibility Cloud after a short introduction and light training. Others prefer to have Inqlude IT manage monitoring as part of a “Assurance Package”, ensuring that accessibility does not deteriorate over time. This proactive approach allows us to identify and address new issues early—before they escalate into more complex and resource-intensive problems.
What’s next
Accessibility Cloud has recently expanded its automated testing capabilities with an AI module (ACAI). In addition to established testing methodologies, the engine now incorporates AI-driven checks. The system clearly indicates which results originate from the AI module, allowing users to apply appropriate attention to these.
The AI module can identify issues such as misleading alternative text, language coding errors in web solutions, and other context-dependent accessibility problems.
Mobile application testing:
In the coming months, we will support testing of a new feature for automated mobile application testing, ACAI-mobile. Historically, automated testing of apps has been practically unfeasible, but Accessibility Cloud has addressed this challenge, and we look forward to implementing this new module in our test for our clients.
