ACAI is our next-generation testing engine, and it is now live in your Accessibility Cloud account. It combines AI with a proprietary rule-based engine and multiple testing components to catch more real accessibility issues than any single engine can on its own.
What makes ACAI different? Traditional tools rely on one engine with one set of rules. ACAI takes a multi-engine approach, cross-referencing results to achieve broader WCAG coverage while keeping false positives low. In real-world tests, it consistently outperforms traditional test engines such as axe-core.
The best part: ACAI is included in your current plan at no extra cost. Every Accessibility Cloud user gets access, including free accounts.
You can start using ACAI right now. It is already the default for new sites, and you can switch your existing sites in your site’s scan settings by enabling it under advanced options. axe-core and QualWeb are still available if you prefer to keep using them.
We are also working on a standalone ACAI API, coming later in 2026, for teams that want to build accessibility testing into their own workflows.
